Annual General Meeting Feb 28-March 1

The groups first event on the 2009 calender and Annual General Meeting was held in conjunction with a militaria and reenactors fair at Derby University. Group members had an opportunity to sell excess kit and stock up on needed items with the proceeds, although I suspect some spent a little more than was raised from sales! This years events are already booked and listed here as well as in the Events section to the right.

Dear Group, during the great war of 1914~18,my late great grandfather,Edward Tointon served with the 1st battalion/East yorkshire reg.Although he was shot and gassed,he survived the war.At the start of war the battalion was a 1000 strong,by the 11/11/1918 over 1500 were killed.Only new recruit's kept this regiment going. One must have been extremely fortunate to have survived this bloodbath.Keep the up the good work.Up the East york's! craig Palmer London
