The English Heritage Scarborough Castle 1940's Wartime Weekend held over the Bank Holiday weekend (Sat 23 - Mon 25 May) was a great success. The group was honoured to have a visit by WWII East Yorkshire Regiment Veteran Alf Ackroyd and his family (Alf's son-in-law Tony kindly took some of the photos shown here). The group presented a display of period weapons, 14-man tent, dining shelter, radio tent and pup tents, a beach assault course display, drill and other military activities and joined with the NWW2A in simulated battles. The group has an active ATS section for female members. There where flypasts of the BBMF Douglas C47 and Spitfire. Further photos will be available soon. Membership enquiries can be directed to Sgt Dave Hebden (firstname.lastname@example.org)
